The Vomit Confession

I am going to start this new blog off with something that is really bothering me in this moment. My son is still puking after almost a week. I think he is over the bug we all had but he is still throwing up because I can't go that second day with the good diet restrictions.

Twice now we have had one good day with no vomit where we stuck to the clear liquids that are necessary. Followed by a day with a vomit when I let him eat things that are bad for a sick belly.

I think some days I just have no self control. I know in my head I need to cook some chicken breasts with plain brown rice so my sweet son will be able to eat without getting sick. BUT, my stomach says - YUCKY! I want something yummy so instead we make fajitas. Not so bad I guess but poor Andrew is hungry and wants to eat in spite of sick belly so he eats the spicy meats. I tried to give him tortilla but he didn't want that. I figure why not? We had actually just eaten some chicken wings too and he did fine with that. They weren't at all spicy and had no glaze of any kind though. Unlike fajita meat which is full of spice.

To top it off I proceeded to give him 2 pieces at once. My plan for it was he would have one in his hand when he finished the first. I forgot he's 2. His plan was shove it all in his mouth at once. I had not been taking care to make sure he'd had enough fluids when we got home after being out at Grandma's all day either. I know he was thirsty. He asked for water several times and I gave him small amounts. I should have given him much more. I gave him pedialyte but he didn't want that so he didn't drink it. And instead of giving him more water I resisted and tried to get him to drink something that deep down I should have known he wouldn't!~

So here we are, 2 pieces of spicy fajita meat in his dry mouth and he can't get it chewed and cannot swallow. He starts gagging. I asked him if he wanted to spit it out and he said no! Again, mommy needs to take the reins sometimes and say, here spit it out instead of asking. He's 2! He says no to everything first. I should fucking know that by now! Seriously, what the hell was I thinking!

He says no to spitting it out and I start shoving the cup of pedialyte in his face trying to get him to drink that, which of course he didn't want, to wet his mouth and make it easier to swallow the huge amount of meat he shouldn't have had all in his mouth at the same time to begin with!

Ack ack ack, BLEEECK. Vomit all over the dining room floor. He started crying of course. And there goes most of what he'd managed to eat throughout the day. Which wasn't much or very good anyway since we'd been at grandma's and she has treats readily available. he wouldn't eat any of the soup over there because there was fruit snacks and instead ate about 5 packets of that.

Bad mommy. I have no brains sometimes I swear. If I had heard some other mother telling me this it would have seemed so blatant to me what needed to be done in each step of the situation to avoid the vomit. Why wasn't it obvious to me in the situation!!

That's it for the first post but I may expand on this later. I have so much disclosure to do I need to take it slow to start.
